About
Meet Alysia
Alysia is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in New York, a Licensed Professional Counselor in New Jersey, and a PhD candidate in Mental Health Counseling at Pace University. She earned her MS in Mental Health Counseling from Pace University and brings experience across community mental health, clinical leadership, and private practice settings. Alysia works with adults navigating trauma, anxiety, depression, relationship concerns, identity, life transitions, and the many emotional layers that come with simply being human. She has a particular passion for working with women, especially those navigating marginalized and underrepresented experiences, while deeply valuing opportunities to work with individuals across diverse identities, backgrounds, lived experiences, and presenting concerns. Her approach to therapy is warm, relational, collaborative, and emotionally focused. Rooted primarily in Emotion-Focused Therapy and Person-Centered Therapy, Alysia also draws from psychodynamic approaches, parts work, CBT, and trauma-informed care. She is especially interested in attachment, relationships, identity, recurring emotional patterns, and helping clients understand how past experiences may continue to shape the way they see themselves, others, and the world around them. For Alysia, insight is important, but so is helping clients translate that understanding into meaningful change. Outside of the therapy room, Alysia loves spontaneous travel and exploring new cities, although you can most often find her somewhere in the Caribbean. She enjoys capturing and preserving meaningful moments and memories, expressing herself through fashion and personal style, and has a genuine love for learning, exploring new interests, and trying new experiences. Most recently, she has added “dog mom” to the list and is newly embracing all the adventures that come with it. At her core, she appreciates a good laugh, meaningful connection, and finding moments of joy in the middle of a very full life.
