About
Meet Benny
Benny works mostly with adults, especially men, fathers, young adults, college students, parents, and caregivers, and also welcomes teens, with a particular interest in teen boys. As a male counselor and a parent himself, he knows how hard it can be to open up, and he's a good fit for people who aren't sure therapy is for them. Clients of all genders are welcome. Benny helps with anxiety, everyday stress, self-esteem and self-doubt, expressing and managing emotions, life transitions, relationship difficulties, communication, and family conflict. He also supports parents who feel overwhelmed, frustrated, or guilty, especially when things are hard with a teenager. Before counseling, Benny worked in special education, partnering with school counselors to help students through behavioral and emotional challenges. That background shapes his work with students and parents facing school pressure, the adjustment to college, and the emotional side of learning differences. Benny uses Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help clients notice and reshape the thought patterns holding them back, and Reality Therapy to focus on the choices within their control right now. He is completing his MA in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and is supervised by Rebecca Brooks, LMHC, LPC.
