FINDING YOUR STARTING POINT

Is this you?

  • You check, recheck, or replay things in your head until it feels "right," and it never quite does.

  • Intrusive thoughts scare you, and you'd never say them out loud.

  • You spend a lot of energy avoiding people, places, or things that set off the anxiety.

  • You pick your skin, pull your hair, or bite your nails, and stopping feels impossible.

  • You keep asking the people around you for reassurance, and the relief never lasts.

  • You've tried talk therapy before, and it didn't touch the OCD.

How we help

OCD doesn't get better by talking it out. It gets better with Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), the most researched treatment for OCD. Together with your therapist, you'll slowly and deliberately face the thoughts and situations that set off your anxiety, without doing the compulsion. Over time your brain learns it can handle the discomfort, and the OCD loses its grip.

For skin picking, hair pulling, and other body-focused repetitive behaviors, we use Habit Reversal Training (HRT) alongside CBT and ACT. You'll learn what sets off the urge, what the behavior does for you, and what to do instead. No shame and no lectures.

Your first month is about getting to know your OCD. We map out your triggers and compulsions, explain how ERP works, and build a plan at a pace that feels doable. You're always in charge of the pace. Most people start weekly by telehealth and move to every other week as things get easier.

What it costs

Sessions with our OCD specialists are $175 to $225. Most clients pay privately and use their out-of-network benefits: we send a superbill every month, and many PPO plans pay back part of each session. Some of our clinicians are in-network with select plans, so ask us during your free consult.

Frequently asked questions

What is ERP, and is it scary?

ERP stands for Exposure and Response Prevention. You face the things your OCD fears in small, planned steps, and practice not doing the compulsion. It can feel uncomfortable, and that's the point, but you set the pace with your therapist. Nobody throws you into the deep end.

How long does OCD treatment take?

Many people notice real change within 12 to 20 weekly sessions of ERP. It depends on how long you've had symptoms and what else is going on. Your therapist will check in on progress with you regularly.

Do you treat skin picking and hair pulling?

Yes. Skin picking (dermatillomania), hair pulling (trichotillomania), and nail biting are body-focused repetitive behaviors, or BFRBs. We treat them with Habit Reversal Training, CBT, and ACT.

Does ERP work over telehealth?

Yes. Research shows ERP works well by video, and it can even help, because many exposures happen right where your OCD shows up: at home.

Can I keep taking my medication?

Absolutely. Many people do ERP alongside medication. We don't prescribe, but we're happy to coordinate with your psychiatrist or doctor.
